Sierra Fish & Pets, initially opened under the name Fish Gallery & Pets, is a family-owned and operated business. It was started as a pet store in 1972 by hobbyists who enjoyed aquariums in the 1960s. At first, it was started as a single store and eventually expanded into a total of 4 full-line pet stores throughout the Seattle Metro area. Sierra Fish & Pets acquired a fish-only saltwater specialty store called Blue Sierra Exotics in 1995, which specialized in Saltwater and Freshwater Aquariums. Currently, Sierra Fish & Pets operates a single original flagship location in Renton, WA, just south of Seattle, a 7200 sq ft full-line pet store specializing in all-around pet care with a huge emphasis on aquatic freshwater and saltwater environments.
